How to Make a Homemade Pizza
The house cleaner came today and the house is sparkling clean and tidy. This is a refreshing change from the tornado trail of dishes and cooking stuff that has been scattered throughout our kitchen in recent weeks. I want to savor it for at least one night.
So what to make for dinner when the house cleaner has come and you don’t want to mess up the kitchen cooking a full meal? Why, homemade pizza, of course! Lately, my favorite kind of pizza is the “whatever you have on hand” pizza.
For homemade pizza, use what you have leftover in the fridge
I topped homemade frozen pizza dough with pizza sauce (that I also had stored frozen, but thawed), shredded mozzarella cheese, ground turkey I had leftover from a dinner earlier in the week, and chopped red pepper. Andrew added bacon to his section as well.
There is something about the site of browning bubbly cheese smothering sizzling meat on puffy clouds of dough that satiates my every gluttonous foodie desire. Pizza is one of my favorite foods and making it at home is fun, easy and delish!!
Here is a recipe I found on one of my favorite foodie websites How Sweet Eats by Jessica Merchant for making a homemade pizza. Hope this inspires you to cook in your own from scratch rather than buying a frozen pizza or ordering in. There is just something about the ability to make it JUST the way you like it!
